Teyani P ~ Pottery | Sculpting |Crafts
I’ve ALWAYS had art somewhere in my life as a child. My father enjoyed sketching and drawing, my mother also drew and had many crafts from needle point and crochet to sewing. Both of my grandmothers also partipated in many forms of sewing or quilting. I guess you could say art is in my blood. Fast forward to my adult life and my current profession, Information Technology, brought back my creativity. In 2009 I was attending college and had gotten burned out from classes to the point I was grumpy and stressed out. My mom recommended I take Ceramics as an elective. I had never touched clay out side of play-dough, which was decades ago so of course my answer was 'yeah right'. Despite my reservations I enrolled. Made a few pieces and thought this is a waste of time and money, but I endured. My ceramic instructor, Steve Glazier, told me I was in the wrong field. I should've been an artist and again... 😒 lol but here we are today. So let's create something special together!
Torrance P ~ Building | Crafts
My eldest brother, Torrance, or just Torrie to me. He’s a nature guy and loves being outdoors. When we were younger we used to explore the great outdoors as kids and brought plenty of items home from our journeys. His biggest joy was building the family dog her very own dog house. Unlike myself he's always had a love for math and science ( I love science). He also loved woodshop which lead him down the path to carpentry. However, he adulted and life took over sendign him down a different path. He still gets to work with math, but wants to bring back the inner child that was lost along the way. Somewhere within that ‘Bob the Builder’ persona remains a desire to molding little minds. Since becoming a father to his own child he’s sought out ways to get him out of the screen and into more hands on activities, as well as pass on his knowledge to our younger generations. We're super excited to have him on our team.
Reather S ~ Sewing | Crochet | Crafts
My wonderful mother, or mommy, Ms. Reather. Where do I start? For as long as I can recall my mother has been crafting. I mean after all she was an interior designer. She made our clothes, curtains, reupholstered furniture, all the things 🤯. In fact over half the dresses in my closet at this very moment are from her hands and they're pretty out there. She also taught me to crochet because despite her valiant efforts we mutally concluded that sewing was not my thing ☺️. Despite that I still managed to gain confidence, determination, and learned resilience because of her. My mom is a true craft guru. The 🐐! She still learns something new everyday to build up her skillset and improve her craft which is impressive to say the least. A mother who raised 6 little people and is currently a great grandma of 4. Two of which will be participating in our program! She’s equally excited to teach any adult learners who may be interested in leveling up their craft game.
